How much subsidy can you get?
Under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, the central subsidy for residential rooftop solar is calculated per kW and credited directly to your bank account after commissioning.
1 kW system
₹30,000
2 kW system
₹60,000
3 kW or more system
₹78,000 (maximum)
The subsidy is ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 per kW for the third kW, capped at ₹78,000 for systems of 3 kW and above. Most homes in Haryana install 3–10 kW depending on their monthly electricity bill and rooftop area.
Eligibility
Who can apply?
- You own a residential property with a suitable rooftop.
- You have a valid electricity connection in your name from the local DISCOM.
- You have not availed a central solar subsidy earlier for the same property.
- The system is an on-grid rooftop system installed by a registered vendor with approved panels and inverter.
Application Process
From application to subsidy

Register on the national portal
Apply on pmsuryaghar.gov.in with your electricity consumer number, mobile number and email.

DISCOM feasibility approval
Your distribution company (UHBVN or DHBVN in Haryana) checks technical feasibility and approves the application.

Installation by a registered vendor
Get the rooftop system installed by a DISCOM-registered vendor such as Solar State, using approved components.

Net meter and inspection
After installation, the DISCOM installs the net meter and completes inspection, followed by commissioning.

Subsidy to your bank account
Submit your bank details and a cancelled cheque on the portal; the subsidy is transferred directly to your account.
